A singer-songwriter for 25 years, Charlotte Gordon Cumming became known not only for her music, but also for the gorgeous vintage dresses she wore on stage. For many years she had been collecting vintage clothes, some saved from warehouses, some found in quirky backstreet shops. She loved the idea of quality garments in fine fabrics being handed down through generations. It was this passion for the vintage cut, styles and prints of the early 20th Century that inspired her to create the brand known today as House of Comyn, named after her ancient Scottish clan.
Their entire collection is made in the UK, using only high-end quality fabrics like pure wool, custom-designed Scottish tweed, corduroy, 100% silk Crepe de Chine and butter-soft suede.
