ISHKAR work exclusively with master artisans living in war zones, creating products that provide a rare window into countries known for their distinctive culture, natural splendor and age-old craftsmanship, long before they were known for war.
Founders Flore de Taisne and Edmund Le Brun are committed to helping craftsmen cut off from the international market in war-torn countries such as Afghanistan where time and money are sparse and therefore cheap, imitative and factory made products become favourable. They purchase directly from artisans, allowing them
to grow their businesses and to keep practicing their craft. ISHKAR then partner with local NGOs so that a proportion of the money is recycled back into development projects. Since forming, ISHKAR have garnered widespread recognition and were most recently selected for Forbes 30 under 30.
