Myne London is a fine jewellery company founded by sisters Fiona Wellington and Kate Murray-Gordos in a response to the ‘turbulent’ Peshawar gem industry. Having lived in Peshawar as children they wanted to create sustainable ethical business which would strengthen economy and find opportunities to support women in education and business.
Mined in Swat Valley, Northern Pakistan these exceptional stones are both sourced direct from miners, then cut and polished in Islamabad through their partner company who train and employ a 70 % female workforce to a high international standard showing good employment practice and progressive attitudes to women in the workplace. This supply chain keeps the added value of the jewels in Pakistan. Swat Valley emeralds are exceptional in quality and stunning in natural colour. They are naturally small and are kept untreated. Designs are elegantly simple to showcase these beautiful jewels, with a strong clean silhouette and using only the highest graded emeralds. These are manufactured in some of the most respected workshops in London and LA.
In 2019 Myne London launched a collection of fine Italian silk scarves designed by the renowned Emma Mawston (Liberty’s) in celebration of their emerald collection and the inherent beauty of Peshawar. 10% of profits are donated to The Malala Fund.
